Today, we're disconnected on the Internet.

It wasn't always like this. We used to have RSS, allowing us to see new posts from our favorite creators — without filling our inboxes with subscriptions.

We used to have email correspondences with new people, before A.I. phishing attempts started making us distrust our inboxes.

Now, our relationships are scattered amidst overflowing inboxes and billionaire-owned social media platforms.

What if we could start re-connecting again?

Now we can re-connect with every link you share.

It starts with a short link.

✔ No user tracking on links

✔ Bring your own domains

✔ Toggle links to make a beautiful link-in-bio

✔ Edit and update your links anytime

After sharing your link, visitors can subscribe to you on the way to the destination — so you all share the relationship.

Now, you can reach that person directly.

      FAQs

      What does Peep do?

Peep is a short-link tool that allows you to get subscribers as audiences visit the link. It's also a regular short link tool without all the tracking.

It also offers custom domains, a link-in-bio page from your latest links, and self-hosting (soon).

How is Peep better than bit.ly?
      Bit.lyPeep

Bit.ly tracks people who click your links

      Peep doesn’t track users

Bit.ly profiles people who click your links Peep doesn’t profile users
Bit.ly costs $35/month for base features Peep offers free plans with full features, and powerful upgrades at a fraction of the cost of Bit.ly
Bit.ly is owned by a private equity company Peep will be an open-source tool that you can run yourself.
      Will Peep support RSS?

      Yes!

      Why won't this get enshittified?

When Peep was an early prototype, we shared it with Cory Doctorow to vet these same concerns. He helped us develop a model of "defense in depth" to protect against enshittification and capture:

      • Ownership structure: Public benefit, non-profit, and/or cooperative ownership
      • Governance structure: Cooperative governance models
      • Self-hosting & portability: Peep is designed for you to use your own custom domain, so you own the branding for your links and can switch instances seamlessly, with no effect for audiences.

Peep is designed for 51% of usage to happen off the main instance, so any interest in taking over the flagship instance and squeezing users would couple with the reality that people could easily migrate instances and the flagship would be useless.

      Are there VCs or investors?

No, Peep hasn't taken any outside investment or funding. We're funding the project through memberships for people, creators, and publishers.

      Who is behind Peep?

Public interest technologists, journalists, and media creators.

      The Story

In 2022, major voices on Twitter began seeing a freefall in engagement. One wrote, "My engagement has gone way down since the Musk takeover."

In 2026, after Oracle took over TikTok in the U.S., creators reported censorship. A study has reported YouTube suppressing political content. Instagram is doing the same.

Do you think you'll be able to rely on these platforms in the future?

We need to start re-connecting outside these platforms. Peep is here to help.

Whenever you share a link — to a YouTube video, your link in bio, a ticket website, a podcast or music stream — Peep allows your audience to subscribe to you on the way. That means more of your audience can get your conent directly, outside the algorithms.

For people who don't want to add emails to their inbox, Peep allows people to subscribe via RSS and get your content on their schedule — straight to their reader.

And Peep will be owned by you.

You’re encouraged to use your own domain, to make it your own. Soon, you'll be able to run Peep yourself, completely open-source.

It’s designed as a community technology for news and content delivery, we can rely on forever.

Want to be part of that vision?

To build trust early on, we’re looking for founding users to get started. It’s a lifetime plan that gives you referral credits for every person who signs up for your links and priority support for your handle, getting your domain, etc.

You can also join for free. (To prevent bots and abuse, links you publish will go through a moderation review.)
